PEKOMY Post was organized by the ex-service men of Fairfax, Iowa July 22, 1921. Six men from Fairfax and vicinity lost their lives in the World War. Taking the first letter from their last name in the order in which they fell as in the order in which their records appear in this book, spells PEKOMY, which was adopted as the name of this post.
